Cabaret
Etc
Miscellaneous Stage work/Available for bookings
I have accepted many invitations and bookings to do Cabaret work in all kinds of venues, at home and abroad. Some of the highlights have been,-
- the cabaret version of my Bluecoat work “TV Jukebox” when the audience chose from a menu of one-minute mime-and-lip-sych pieces.
- “Release The Bats” - (pictured) - the audience fire rubber-gloves atteched to elastic at me while I perform Nick Cave’s early classic
- “Fierce Desire” in 2008 (Liverpool’s Year as Capital Of Culture) when I curated a night of exotic/erotic cabaret as part of the “Potting Shed” series of shows on the boat “Fitzcarraldo” on the Liverpool docks, Walk The Plank Company’s contribution to the year’s events.-
- “If Only” - a series of deeply unconventional performance nights at The Bluecoat
I also had a play written specially for me, “The Big See” by my friend Esther Wilson, which I performed on the stage of the Liverpool Everyman Theatre.
Having trained in Improvisation with Andrew Morrish I also specialize in going on stage with no idea what I’m going to do - and then doing it! I did this at one of the Exchange Radical Moments events in Berlin. But you can never tell what wonders improvisation will produce..... Sometimes I improvise with musicians, as here with Alex DeCoupigny, and another good friend, Barry Han.
I usually create or tailor my cabaret offerings to the event so do get in touch if you’re interested.................
